CDECF is implementing the Energy for Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (E4WASH) Sindhupalchok Project from October 2025 to March 2028. The project is being implemented in coordination with Lisankhupakhar and Tripurasundari Rural Municipalities, with financial and technical support from Renewable World (RW) and in partnership with CDECF and Li-BIRD. The project aims to improve access to and use of safe and sustainable water and sanitation services for 1,500 people across three underserved communities in Sindhupalchok. Building on RW’s proven E4WASH model, the project combines solar-powered water systems, WASH infrastructure, behaviour change, menstrual hygiene management, climate-resilient agriculture, and community capacity-building. It also strengthens local governance and sustainable operation and maintenance of WASH services while supporting 180 farmers to increase agricultural production and income. Through these integrated interventions, the project seeks to improve health and hygiene, reduce the burden of water collection—particularly for women and girls—strengthen livelihoods and food security, and promote sustainable, equitable, and community-managed WASH services.
